This week, Olga Kern continues her performance season with a recital in Seattle. Presented as part of the University of Washington’s World Series, the performance will take place at Meany Hall for the Performing Arts on March 12. Olga opens the program with Beethoven’s Variations on a Theme by Salieri, followed by Alkan’s Etude in G Major and Chopins Sonata No. 2. The second half of the program will be dedicated to selections from Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux and Preludes.

The performance comes just a few days following Monday’s announcement that Olga will chair the jury for the Seventh Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition in June 2016. Applications will take place beginning March 19, 2015 and continue through March 1, 2016. The competition is open to the public; ticket sales will begin early next year.
