Olga Kern & Renée Fleming reunite for performances in California & New York
Olga Kern reunites with soprano Renée Fleming for recital performances at the University of California, Berkeley on March 5, 2016 and at New York’s Carnegie Hall on March 9, 2016.
They perform Schumann’s Frauenliebe und-leben, Op. 42; a selection of Rachmaninoff’s art songs; Debussy’s “Feux d’artifice” and Ariettes oubliées; songs by composer/vocalist Patricia Barber; plus vocal favorites from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I.
These concerts follow several collaborations between Olga and Renée Fleming, whose musical partnership began in 2001 at the Kennedy Center Honors celebrating Van Cliburn. They have since performed on a concert tour in 2015 and on recording with Dmitri Hvorostovsky on the DVD A Musical Odyssey in St. Petersburg.
