Olga Kern’s 2016 Season Highlights
Olga Kern appears around the world in early 2016, in the spotlight for solo recitals and orchestral performances. She brings recital programs across the United States – to Eugene, OR; Spartanburg, NC; Sarasota and Sanibel, FL; and Lawrence, KS – highlighting Boris Frenkshteyn’s Homage Variations to Edward Grieg and Béla Bartók, written in dedication to Olga, alongside works by Beethoven, Scarlatti and more. Olga also joins soprano Renée Fleming in recital in Berkeley, CA on March 5 and at New York’s Carnegie Hall on March 9.
Olga holds a residency in Israel with the Israel Symphony Orchestra in January, performing recitals and appearing with the orchestra in Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1. She tours South Africa in February, appearing with the Cape Town Orchestra and the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.
Throughout the 2016 season, Olga is the featured soloist with orchestras around the world. She joins the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra on January 29 and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice on February 5 & 6 for the Piano Concerti of Rachmaninoff. March 1 sees Olga with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s Royal Festival Hall, performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. In March and April, further orchestral collaborations include a performance in Milan with son Vladislav as well as appearances with the New Mexico Philharmonic, San Antonio Symphony, Vermont Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic and Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.
